Job Description
Overview
The Principal Development Lead is responsible for managing the development process for new Chick-fil-A locations within a region. This person in this role works closely with Real Estate, Legal, Franchisee Selection and Construction, as well as outside professionals, and vendors. This person will be highly involved working with outside Landlords, Developers, and Municipalities to oversee the development of all CFA formats within their region to support yearly plan.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with CFA Real Estate and Design staff to provide input during the pre-construction phase of each project
- Manage / lead outsource partners, surveyors, sign vendors and geotechnical / environmental partners in conducting due diligence on proposed new stores
- Manage / lead Civil Engineers, Architects, sign vendors, traffic consultants, Land Use Attorneys, etc. through the project approvals process
- Collaborate with Construction to value engineer site plans and to develop project cost estimates to aid in the decision making process
- Represent CFA at public hearings as part of the project approval process
- Approve and execute contracts and purchase orders
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Work closely with outside entities such as FDOT to continue relationship building and Partnering for the future of our expansion plans.
- Qualify and approve project related invoices.
- Has thorough knowledge of their role and discipline.
- Ability to work across the Regions and the Organization with influence to implement business strategy within the role.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year undergraduate degree in Engineering, Building Construction, Architecture, or B.B.A. with major in Real Estate or related degree
- 8-10 + years project management responsibilities in a similar or related retail construction capacity.
- Ability to represent CFA at public hearings
- Must be able to possess and apply expert knowledge of the development industry consistently
- Ability to manage multiple projects and negotiated project costs
- Proficiency in reading and understanding architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering documents
- Desire to recognize and take initiative
- Self-motivated to constantly and continuously improve
- Demonstrated track record of developing and building programs with deep expertise in developing, coaching and mentoring leaders at all levels
