Summary of the role:

Navitaire is a leading Travel Industry Application provider company, committed to delivering innovative solutions and unparalleled customer experiences. We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Administrator/Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be contributing to and providing leadership in the design, development, and management of our data infrastructure, ensuring data availability, integrity, and security.

In this role you'll:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and reliable hybrid cloud solutions using Microsoft SQL Server databases and NoSQL solutions, ensuring optimal performance, data consistency, accuracy, and integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data requirements and develop data models, implementing DBA best practices and industry-standard techniques.
• Implement and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or other ETL tools for data ingestion, transformation, and loading to support analytical and reporting needs.
• Monitor SQL Server database performance, implement optimizations, and troubleshoot performance issues to ensure optimal data access and response times.
• Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies, as well as disaster recovery plans using technologies such as Always On Availability Groups and Log Shipping to safeguard data integrity and availability.
• Ensure data privacy and security by implementing and enforcing SQL Server security best practices, such as data encryption, user access control, and auditing.
• Provide ongoing support and training to internal stakeholders on SQL Server-related topics, including query optimization, data management, and database design.
• Keep up to date with emerging database technologies and trends, particularly in the Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem, recommending and implementing improvements to our data infrastructure as needed.

About the ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Database Administrator or Data Engineer, with a focus on operational supportability as well as database design, development, and administration.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies, including experience with database design, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), Data Factory, or other ETL Tools.
• Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools (e.g., Microsoft ADO).
• Knowledge of programming languages, such as T-SQL and PowerShell, and experience C#.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
