Who we're looking for
Toyota's CSRM group is looking for team members who are passionate about technology and interested in joining a collaborative and highly motivated team as a Cybersecurity Principal Engineer - DevOps.
The primary responsibility of this role is to operate as a technical leader & cybersecurity expert in developing software in support of the ecosystem of future generation vehicles.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, the person in this role will join the Product Cybersecurity group to deploy security solutions for applications in a more connected vehicle environment.
What you'll be doing
- Provide technical cybersecurity knowledge on vehicle ecosystem from development through implementation that have measurable impacts on company innovation.
- Provide value added research in cybersecurity and analysis to take a "whole company" approach to identifying opportunities, creating solutions and advising management as a strategic business partner.
- Provide value-added research and analysis, advice/counsel to management

- Act as a strategic business partner to Managers and Executives
- Navigate through variable situations, utilizing analytical, interpretive and constructive thinking for a measurable and continuous impact on vehicle ecosystem cybersecurity and company progress.
- Expected to face variable situations/issues which require analytical, interpretive and constructive thinking
- Make contributions to management and solve complex business problems
What you bring
- 6+ years of experience with DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar role.
- Working knowledge of AWS services such as VPC, IAM policies, ALBNLB, Route53, CloudFront, SNSSQS, Lambda, API gateway, EKS, ECR, etc.
- Proficient in (Infrastructure-as-Code) IaC coding languages such as terragrunt and terraform.
- Containerization technologies with EKS and ECS, life-cycle management, ingressegress, etc.
- Experience with AWS SDKs and CLI tooling.
- Scripting: Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash).
- CI/CD Tools: Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar tools.
- Networking: Solid understanding of networking principles, including DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Security: Knowledge of best practices in network security, data protection, and compliance frameworks
- This position requires driving. A motor vehicle record that's acceptable by company standards is required for this position
Added bonus if you have
- OSCP, SANS/GIAC, CISSP, or other related/equivalent certifications.
- Experience with compliance regulations/laws, security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO/SAE 21434, NIST, HIPAA, ISO, COBIT, OWASP, ITIL, etc.).
- Experience with one or more of the following industries: law enforcement, defense, intelligence community, automotive, manufacturing, software,
- Bachelor's degree or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
- Fluent in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking) for business and technical discussions.
