Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Principal Avionics Supportability Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located onsite in Melbourne, FL with no hybrid work available.
Accomplish In this role you will perform system engineering and integration tasks relating to Product Support IPTs and represent Product Support in interaction with Design Engineering and IPT support. Prior experience in systems engineering, system design concepts and maintenance of avionic and/or RF Systems, including Communications, Navigation, RADAR, digital and analog systems is required. You should have knowledge of design and database tools and possess the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists.
Essential Functions:

Identify, analyze, quantify and influence logistics requirements to support the weapon system including spares, Support Equipment, technical data, training, facilities, and personnel
* Interface with vehicle engineering to influence designs for supportability
* Initiate and perform trade studies
* Perform detailed maintenance task analysis
* Determine overall weapon support system requirements for sustainment

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years of engineering experience OR Master's Degree in STEM and 3+ years of experience
* Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time as determined by the company to meet business needs
Preferred Qualifications:

> 5 years of engineering experience
* Active, in scope DoD Secret or higher clearance
* Experience with testability, troubleshooting, fault trees and/or FMECA
* Familiarity with GEIA-0007 and relational databases.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Able able to present design concepts to an audience.
* Able to work well with co-workers, other groups and external suppliers.
