The impact you will have in this role:

Being a member of the Platform Engineering team you will be responsible for driving platform strategy, performing design analysis, creating and maintaining documentation, planning, testing, implementation, and support for the Private Cloud infrastructure services environment. Requires experience and product knowledge in the areas of server virtualization, storage, networking, operating systems, and automation.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

• Perform design analysis, documentation, and planning for strategic IT initiatives/solutions
• Provide technical design guidance and support to platform engineering teams
• Engages external vendors when needed to review best practices, architecture and design proposals, and solve complex problems
• Actively engage in strategic goals for Private Cloud engineering, the department, and the organization
• Create and update technical/architectural/strategic documentation in support of the Private Cloud infrastructure
• Provide design and Senior engineering level escalation technical support to platform teams
• Collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
• Provide input and follow-through on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment
• Maintain and enhance platform configurations to meet the demands and requirements of our customers

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 8 years of related experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Talents Needed for Success:

• Strong background in server virtualization (primarily VMware) planning and design
• Strong background in storage technologies (block, file, object) planning and design
• Working knowledge of networking (layer 2 and layer 3 connectivity)
• Working knowledge of automation and orchestration at an Enterprise level
• Familiarity with Operating Systems (i.e., Windows, UNIX, LINUX) a plus
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter who can support multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
• Analytical, strategic, and problem-solving abilities
• Able to provide adequate guidance and governance to project teams
