Position Summary
We're working on innovative foods and formulas that rival healthcare, pharma, human food, and tech companies around the world-foods and formulas that can extend the lives and cognitive function in maturing dogs and cats. We're developing ways to improve the vision of cats and minimize pet allergies through quality nutrition. We were the first ever to extrude dry dog food and we're backed by a lengthy list of patents-a portfolio of industry firsts.
Over 500 scientists make everything we think about come to life. We're nutritionists, chemists, immunologists, microbiologists, veterinarians, and the alike. But, what we do stretches far beyond our titles. It's a dare we accepted from the very beginning - the dare to 'Stand Taller'.
As a Principal Scientist - Product Development, you will plan, organize, and perform a broad range of research and development activity utilizing a high level of advanced, specialized knowledge to create differentiating technology while using professional judgement with minimal supervision.

As a Principal Scientist - Product Development, you will plan, organize, and perform a broad range of research and development activity utilizing a high level of advanced, specialized knowledge to create differentiating technology while using professional judgement with minimal supervision.
- Plan, organize, and perform trials and experiments to deliver the process and product development projects that meet the requirements of client companies
- Provide product and process expertise internally and externally to Marketing, Manufacturing, Divisional Engineering, Technical Applications, other departments on a wide variety of projects
- Participate and contribute as a member of a global cross-functional team and project team leader.
- Actively drive product and process conceptualization, development and scale-up.
- Interface on a project implementation team by assisting with hand-off from development to start-up and providing operational training
- Effectively communicate results through oral presentations and timely, written technical documentation and reports
- Conduct all activity in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and all required Company policies and procedures
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Food Science or related discipline
- 10+ years of product development experience including ingredient knowledge
