Principal Software Quality Engineer

Position Overview: 

We are looking for a Principal Software Quality Engineer with a strong focus on automation to join one of our cross-functional development squads. 

This role is essential for ensuring the quality and functionality of our applications from concept to implementation and maintenance.  

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Playwright and Selenium, with an emphasis on Playwright, and will be a key player in both automated and manual testing processes. 

Project Tech Stack: 

• Frontend: React + TypeScript, OpenAPI 

• Backend: Python, OpenAPI, Celery + RabbitMQ, Django + sqlAlchemy 

• QA Automation: Playwright + TypeScript, Selenium + Python 

• DB: PostgreSQL, Redis 

• CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins 

• Infrastructure: k8s+Terraform+Helm, Azure, Heroku, GCP 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Automation Testing: Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts, with a focus on functionality testing using Playwright and Selenium (70%). 

• Validation: Perform manual testing in new development and during regression tests (30% of the role). 

• Test Case Design: Design test cases and validate them manually as necessary to ensure comprehensive coverage and accuracy. 

• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure alignment on testing strategies and outcomes. 

• Quality Assurance: Drive the quality and reliability of our applications by identifying and fixing issues early in the development process. 

• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging trends in testing technologies and share insights to drive innovation within the team. 

Qualifications: 

• Experience: At least 8+ years of experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on test automation. Need 2+ years of leading projects.

• Technical Proficiency: Proficient in TypeScript and Python with Playwright and Selenium test automation workflows. 

• Communication Skills: Strong English communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate within cross-functional teams. 

• Problem-solving Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail. 

• Methodologies: Experience with Agile development methodologies. 

• Flexibility: Ability to work remotely in a distributed team and occasionally participate in late meetings due to time zone differences
