The Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RI&S) Hardware and Infrastructure Engineering (HW&I) team has a professional opening for a Principal Systems Engineer. This position will lead and perform network and infrastructure engineering tasks pertaining to LAN/data center system design, development, implementation, integration, and troubleshooting activities. The qualified individual should possess technical leadership skills and strong knowledge and experience with network technologies, services, operations, and security.

Occasional travel to customer operational locations is required.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of (8)+ years of progressively responsible experience designing COTS infrastructure environments.
• Proficiency in matching system requirements to compute capabilities and the knowledge and ability to select specific hardware and infrastructure to meet those requirements.
• Experience leading technical teams and taking responsibility for meeting cost schedule and technical requirements.
• Strong knowledge of networks, storage, compute and virtualization.
• Experience designing, building, and configuring servers running Windows and Linux RHEL OS.
• Strong Knowledge and experience with Application and Security protocols, such as Solarwinds, HBSS, Certificates & Tokens, RSA, McAfee SIEM, McAfee IPS/IDS, Rubrik Host Backup System, SAN storage, and Active Directory.
• Experience in working with highly hardened/secure environments.
• Adjust quickly to changing priorities.
• High level of motivation, self-starter required.

Desired Skills:

• Background in COTS product installation.
• Experience with automation tools such as Chef (preferred), Puppet, Ansible, or similar products for O/S builds, software installation and configuration.
• Experience implementing system changes in accordance with DISA STIG guidance.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux System Administration.
• Scripting skills (i.e. PowerShell, Python, Ruby, Bash, etc.).

Education Requirement:
Typically requires a BS/BA degree and 8 years of related work experience; Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) preferred.
