We see the Pentest as a Service model as a first step in our vision to create a new interface to the security workforce. We have secured more than $50M in funding from a variety of top flight investors, led by Highland Europe. We are using our funding to expand global usage and continue development of the Cobalt platform, which pioneered the Penetration test as a Service (PtaaS) model.
Description
We are looking for a passionate, driven, self starter to join the Legal team as a Privacy Specialist. Reporting to the Senior Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for supporting and implementing all aspects of Cobalt’s global data protection strategy. You may be located anywhere within the United States, UK, or Germany.Â

What You’ll Do
Cobalt’s Privacy Specialist will play a critical role in operationalizing privacy throughout the company.. The Privacy Specialist will review the company's services, technologies, and engagement of third party suppliers to identify privacy related issues, help execute, and improve Cobalt’s global privacy strategy. The position will be responsible for consulting on privacy matters, and for the development and maintenance of policy and procedural documentation in support of Cobalt’s privacy and data protection efforts. This person will also coordinate cross-functionally throughout the company to ensure privacy requirements are effectively implemented to promote compliance objectives.
As a global company, Cobalt has exposure to privacy regulations in multiple jurisdictions spanning the Americas and EMEA. Priority is given to those with expertise in multiple jurisdictions.Â
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in creating and maintaining privacy related notices, policies, standards, guidelines and processes.
Conduct assessments and work with stakeholders to mitigate privacy risks across the organization.
Socialize privacy by design principles.
Provide technical privacy guidance to business leaders, developers, and product team members.Â
Help develop, implement and manage processes, internal controls relating to privacy frameworks and offer privacy support to various departments.
Assist in developing and administering privacy training and awareness campaigns for various groups within the company.
Identify and administer tools for managing privacy compliance obligations (including DataGrail and/or similar tools).
Required Experience
EDUCATION:
BA/BS or equivalentÂ
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
3+ years of demonstrated experience in data privacy.
Background applying privacy and data protection laws and frameworks such as GDPR, UK Privacy Act, CCPA, etc.Â
Experience conducting privacy reviews, control assessments and privacy impact assessments.
Experience consulting cross-functionally with diverse disciplines to drive privacy compliance initiatives.Â
Highly collaborative, team oriented mindset.
Excellent communication skills.
Privacy certification (such as a CIPP designation or similar) is strongly preferred.
