Product Engineer (MECB - Metal Enclosed Capacitor Bank)

General Information:

The primary focus for this specific position is on MECB product (Metal Enclosed Capacitor Banks) but the person on this position may also be involved in medium and high voltage capacitor units and banks.

Your Responsibilities:

• Support Tendering engineers for custom / special designs (create costing BOM and preliminary drawing in CAD)
• Support engineering activities with order managers, mechanical and control engineers)
• Ensure design of products and/or systems.
• Analyze the content of the orders received to ensure their compliance with the bid requirements and negotiated agreements.
• Provide technical support to the customers and the Sales. Representatives/Regional Managers through proper knowledge of products
• Support on FAT related activities at the LAU - Local Assembly Units (preparation of ITPs, programming on relays and controllers)
• Provide technical support for assembly at the LAU.
• Verify the drawings of the bank components and, from time to time, participate in the approval process.
• Visit customers, make presentations, where required.
• Ensure achievement of all objectives.
• Update the databases of the Product Engineers (QuoteLog and SalesForce.com) for all bids and orders completed when needed.
• Liaise constantly with the customers/representatives/Regional Managers with respect to the bid development and process.
• Establish strong communication and interaction with the personnel from the Regional Sales Offices, the Regional Managers and the customers.
• Within his scope of authority and competence, perform all other tasks not specifically mentioned in the present description and required by his immediate supervisor.

• Bachelor or college degree in electrical engineering.
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in similar role.
• Experience with the United States/North American design standards / IEEE is a positive factor.
• Excellent knowledge of MSOffice tools.
