ABOUT THE ROLE
Product Management is charged with being the customer’s voice within Accela. They drive product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions. We are defining innovative solutions for Governments to be more productive and better serve their citizens.Â
The Product Manager role is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the security and compliance aspects of Accela’s product portfolio. You must be self-motivated and have strong leadership skills as you will be working across many product teams to ensure the successful completion of cross-team initiatives. You will create business cases, product roadmaps, product requirements and will interact with senior management, security and compliance, legal, engineering, sales, support, marketing, partners and customers. This position requires proven communication, influence and collaboration skills with a track record of interacting with technical, product, and marketing teams. You must have good business sense and experience with SaaS software business, security and compliance, and development processes.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage Accela’s requirements and development of security solutions on an enterprise SaaS platform.
- Work with customers, partners and key stakeholders to define security policies and ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with security teams to review security assessments, identify and address potential vulnerabilities and risks in the product and implement appropriate measures to safeguard customer data and systems. Be able to communicate the business value and technical rationale behind your product decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, design, and security teams to plan and execute the development of security related features/solutions. Participate in agile or other development processes, including creating user stories, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely delivery.
- Create goals that define the success of your product(s) and build KPIs to track your success.
- Work with and develop strong relationships with product marketing, sales, support and professional services to ensure all teams can effectively message and position security capabilities in customer facing events, webinars, and communications.
- Monitor the security landscape and conduct competitive analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for the product. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new security threats.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in full life-cycle product management or product compliance, preferably in the security industry or a related field.
- Previous experience in process automation-oriented enterprise software.
- Technical expertise in SaaS application architecture.
- Familiarity with security technologies, systems, and concepts.
- History of using customer and market research to drive decision making.
- Able to bring order to complex systems by identifying patterns in customer usage.
- Proven track record of delivering successful enterprise software or SaaS products.
- Proven stakeholder management skills working with a cross-functional team to influence and lead across all parts of a geographically distributed organization.
- Proven experience working in a product driven company building a successful solution.
- Previous experience presenting product vision, business results and driving collaborative discussion among large teams, to business stakeholders and executives.
- Strong program management skills with and ability to keep multiple workstreams aligned to ensure successful completion of cross-team initiatives.
- Experience as a product owner in an agile environment.
- Have led a migration of a legacy products and feature sets to a newer products/technology.
- Experience identifying and addressing customer needs, building relationships with customers, and communicating with customers in a clear and knowledgeable manner.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with a track record of measuring and reporting key performance indicators including revenue, market adoption, margin and up-sell/cross sell.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in cybersecurity, network security, or software security.
- Relevant security certifications or expertise in compliance and certification requirements for frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NIST 800-53.
- Basic SQL skills used to extract, manipulate, an analyze data from databases.
- Experience with Accela Civic Platform.
- Experience with Accessibility conformance, using Accessibility tools like AXE, JAWS, Total Validator; Have taken any general or specific training in Accessibility for the web.
- Experience working with State and Local government.
The base pay range for this position is $95,000-$150,000/year. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Â
