Job Description

We seek a motivated and detail-oriented Product Manager with an entrepreneurial mindset to join our Conversational Commerce team. In this role, you will work closely with senior product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and value-generating product features for our clients. You will lead the onboarding, support, and project governance for Vonage Conversational Commerce, powered by Jumper.ai, working with our Certified Reseller Partners (CSPs) and enterprise clients. You should have an eagerness to dive into the technology and customer use cases to match the evolving Conversational Commerce landscape. You will utilize your extensive technical expertise and customer-focused approach to deliver outstanding product experiences, ensuring success for Vonage, our partners, and our clients.

Responsibilities:

Product Planning and Roadmapping:

  • Assist in defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with senior product managers.
  • Help prioritize features and requirements based on business and customer impact.

Product Management:

  • Own the product development process and collaborate with UX, Customer Success, and Development teams to deliver value-driven products.
  • Oversee the product development lifecycle, including planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Adhere to and promote Vonage standards, practices, and policies for product management consistency.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor development team, providing direction and support, at times getting your hands dirty to ensure timely delivery

Product Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitor products.
  • Analyze data to identify opportunities for product improvements and new product development.
  • Gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to inform product decisions.

Product Launch and Marketing Support:

  • Support Senior Product Managers in planning and executing product launches, including developing marketing materials and strategies.
  • Assist in creating product documentation, training materials, and sales enablement tools.

Requirements Gathering and Documentation:

  • Work with stakeholders, including customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, to gather and define product requirements. 
  • Create and maintain product requirement documents (PRDs) and user stories.
  • Manage technical documentation and processes associated with CFIUS, ensuring timely approvals from relevant teams.
  • Produce high-quality documentation appropriate for the intended audience

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with client managers, functional stakeholders, and cross-functional Vonage teams (Product, Engineering, IT, Legal, Marketing, and Sales)  to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and updates to stakeholders and the broader organization.
  • Initiate and work closely with partners across the organization and participate in cross-functional forums and workshops.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

  • Participate in product testing and quality assurance activities to ensure the product meets the required standards.
  • Gather feedback from beta testing and early users to identify and address issues.

Product Launch and Marketing Support:

  • Support Senior Product Managers in planning and executing product launches, including developing marketing materials and strategies.
  • Assist in creating product documentation, training materials, and sales enablement tools.

Data Analysis and Performance Tracking:

  • Monitor product performance metrics and analyze data to assess the success of product features and initiatives.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement based on data analysis.

Customer Support and Engagement:

  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and gather feedback.
  • Assist in resolving customer issues and improving the overall customer experience.
  • Provide support to CSPs, enterprise clients, reseller partners, and their clients to enhance customer satisfaction and drive Vonage’'s success by delivering solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.

Learning and Development:

  • Continuously learn about the product management field, industry trends, and best practices as well as other products at Vonage.
  • Seek mentorship and guidance from senior product managers and other experienced professionals.
  • Familiarize yourself with the different API products provided by Vonage.

Requirements:

Education: Masters / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT, or equivalent experience.

Experience: 6-8 years

Required Skills:

  • 6+ years of experience in a customer-facing role with a highly technical product.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial mindset, with experience either running a startup or working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Must have led implementation activities for a technical product.
  • Experience with e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, and payment gateways is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with application and API integrations.
  • Understanding of programming languages, web development frameworks, databases, APIs, cloud platforms, and networking concepts.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and diverse teams, especially engineering teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of software development lifecycle best practices and experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and focused on delivering high-quality results.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, and Confluence, is a plus.
  • Domain knowledge in telecommunications (CPaaS) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud is beneficial.
