Production Operator

Job Summary

Saint-Gobain is currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual to fill a role as a manufacturing operator in the Jet Mill area. The ideal candidate will have safety as their #1 priority, be mechanically-inclined, and have good communication skills as we work in a team-oriented environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manufacturing equipment, performing various quality checks to ensure the quality of the final product, and reporting any issues with equipment to their supervisor. Required Qualifications

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work Safely
• The operator will oversee and manage production of 1345-1395, 1313, Mag Zirc, Zirc J and similar products from raw materials through to final quality control
• Requires efficiently balancing jet milling, RSG air classifying, and screening steps to maximize overall production and meet customer order requirements
• Requires jet milling tails from various products to improve overall product yields while ensuring proper cleanouts prevent material cross contamination.
• Individual works with production supervisor and production planner on priorities for milling
• Entails tracking and management of key materials and consumables to ensure uninterrupted and quality production
• Works with process engineering and management to troubleshoot quality or production issues
• Responsible for the start-up, shut-down, and cleanouts of all production equipment in jet mill/RSG area
• Make adjustments to processing parameters to achieve desired final specifications
• Store raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods in their proper locations
• Operate a forklift to move pallets of raw materials, totes filled with powder, etc
• Will need to operate equipment at elevated heights occasionally (ladders/platforms)
• Pack finished goods to be shipped as needed
• Load/unload trucks as needed
• Maintain work areas and equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Additional Description

Qualifications and Skills:

• High School Diploma/GED/equivalent required
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility preferred
• Team player
• Strong work ethic and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to details
• Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
• Reliable transportation to/from work
