Production Unit Supervisor

Gowan Milling Yuma is looking for a Production Unit Supervisor. This position is under the direct supervision of the Production Superintendent.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• To perform tasks to include but not limited to the following
• Supervision of the area of responsibility and quality control of unit operations
• Supervisor is responsible for personally training and maintaining a crew of 4 operators and formulators designated to their unit.
• Direct supervision of assigned personnel
• Worker safety, dress, and working habits
• Accountability and control of processes and packaging
• Manufacture documentation
• Quality control system documentation and sampling
• Generating of maintenance work orders and requests
• Housekeeping and area cleanliness including in and around units
• Supervisor monitors and manages the morning shift change
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Capable of following detailed written and verbal work instructions in English
• Possess a strong working knowledge of math and communication skills as it pertains to assigned tasks
• Possess a strong working knowledge of the processes and equipment in the area to which assigned
• Capable of troubleshooting, adjusting, and repairing processes and equipment in the area assigned
• Capable of directly supervising assigned personnel in their area
• Possess a strong working knowledge of current company policy regarding safety, waste disposal, and quality systems
• Possess a working knowledge of computer system basics and operation, as it pertains to assigned tasks
• Capable of supervising safe unit operations
• Capable of operating a forklift.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

• Regularly required to remain in a stationary position.
• Occasionally required to ascend/descend stairs
• Ability to answer call outs before and after standard scheduled hours of work.
