Position Summary

Responsible for rolling out large-scale R&D solutions to many countries spread across the globe to introduce Samsung products to various wireless carriers.

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for rolling out large-scale R&D solutions to many countries spread across the globe to introduce Samsung products to various wireless carriers. Responsible for development of product requirements, feature requirements, systems, and performance analysis, conduct deep-dive customer sessions on 4G/5G call-processing related features and air interface technologies. Responsible for leading all technical discussions on Samsung products/scheduler related features with several customer vertical organization including 4G/5G RAN Development groups and RAN performance groups. Conduct performance analysis, oversee the evaluation of new products, software releases, and third-party product evaluations. Provide expert technical support in the pre-sales process and create compelling technical and commercial solutions to help achieve the assigned sales goals and business objectives. Translate and communicate complex technical design considerations between the Samsung sales team and carriers' network business. Accountable for leading field integration testing efforts (FFA/FIT/FSA) of all 4G/5G key features with customers, including test plan development, customer review, oversee cross-functional team execution, review test results, issue identification, analysis, and quality proofing. Analyze and troubleshoot schedule related issues reported from customer labs, field sites, and production networks. Continuous improvement of LTE RAN network performance by evaluating and trending key performance indicators and performance trials.

Skills and Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Networks, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 2 years of post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related role. In Lieu of a Master's Degree and 2 years of experience, Employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Networks, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent, plus 5 years of progressively responsible postbaccalaureate experience in job offered or related role. Applicants must have 2 years of experience (5 years of experience in possession of a relevant Bachelor's Degree) in the following: (1) telecommunications engineering; (2) 3GPP RAN product architecture, design, implementation and performance improvements (KPIs); (3) wireless technology & procedures including CDMA/EVDO/LTE/Volte and 5G; (4) 4G/5G Call Processing including RRC, S1-MME, S1-U, X2, RLC, MAC, PHY protocols; (5) Hybrid Beamforming, Massive MIMO, New Waveforms, LTE-NR interworking & co-existence, and 5G Numerologies; (6) system engineering activities including feature requirements identification, feature description documentation, parameter optimization, performance analysis, test strategy creation, and problem troubleshooting; (7) RF antenna technologies & network optimizations; (8) 4G/5G RAN Network Technical Support; and (9) LTE/5G Air Interface, PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC, PDCP layers TCP/IP. 20% domestic travel required.
