Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Program Director you will primarily be a management leader responsible for IBM business continuity in the areas of Hybrid Cloud and Artificial Intelligence (AI). You will be accountable for the product development managing delivery schedules and assuring highest quality of release with maximum exploiter/customer satisfaction. You will be part of a global development team and associate with peers and stakeholders based in Germany USA and India.

Essentially :

• Hiring development and retention of the best talent from the industry skilled in Unix/Linux base OS and associated Hybrid Cloud and AI sub-systems
• Focus on Employee engagement Growth Skill building Innovation and well-being towards retaining highly talented resources
• Enable collaboration with open source community and Linux distro partners
• Champion Design Thinking & Agile practices in product design development & test
• Motivate the team in applying processes and best practices in delivering great user experience and quality products for IBM Server Systems
• Ensure Business Compliance and Integrity is maintained across the team
• Collaborate with teams across multiple geographies and time zones including development managers release managers product managers peers and stakeholders to share/apply best practices at increasing efficiency in the process/product methodologies

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Required Technical and Professional Expertise with relevant experience of 20+ years:

• Demonstrated leadership with atleast 10 years of hands-on technical IT industry experience preferably in the area of Systems product R&D associated with Cloud/AI technologies
• Atleast 5 years of People Management experience preferably managing Managers as well as Senior Technical resources
• Proven ability to manage and lead/guide/mentor technical team and been part of their talent & career development – essentially a people champion
• Good problem solver – business/technical solutions conflict resolution expert negotiator
• Familiar with Enterprise Server (Unix/Linux) Operating System (advantage if familiar with IBM Z Systems as a consumer or user)
• Technically associated with:
  • Kubernetes RHOCP DevOps Python GO Language Docker Jenkins etc.
  • AI Methodologies including Data Science Generative AI AI Compiler/Runtime Machine learning Deep learning and Natural language processing Data Handling etc.
  • Systems Software and Server/Systems platform architecture and familiar with Virtualization technologies and Performance optimization approaches

• Familiar with tools to track project & defect progress (RQM RTC Clear Quest Best Quest github Jupyter Jira Trello etc.) from program concept to delivery
• Experienced in driving process transformation and innovation in the organization
• Drive Agile DevOps and Design Thinking methodologies at work to streamline the delivery process
• Proven ability to work effectively in a global team environment forming & managing multiple projects across geographies
• Proven command over the English language both written and verbal.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Solid understanding of systems hardware & architecture
• Good understanding operating systems internals/Kernel (Process Management Memory Management Virtualization Scheduling I/O (Networking & Storage) Security etc.)
• Understanding of on-prem vs cloud deployments
• Be able to relate to technologies spanning across Redhat OpenShift (OCP) and Hybrid Cloud (Docker Kubernetes Containers) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) etc.
• Understanding of AI/ML model deployments AI lifecycle hands-on experience on deploying AI/ML models on cloud
