Position:Program Manager – 360Outdoors Salary:DOE Benefits:Health/Dental benefits, 403(b) retirement plan and paid time off included Reports to:Vice President, Operations & Sports & Fitness Job Description: This is a full time, exempt (salary) Program Manager Position. This position will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the year-round 360Outdoors Program for Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center members. Duties and Responsibilities: β€’ Coordinate and Facilitate year-round 360Outdoors programs mainly focused on adaptive group programs including but not limited to:Hiking, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Outrigger Canoeing/Dragon Boating/Rowing, Rafting, Fishing, Multi-Sport Days, Rock Climbing β€’ Work with specific program/activity leads to ensure safety and programming needs are met β€’ Co-create and maintain risk management policies and procedures for each activity and setting for 360Outdoor programs β€’ Create and maintain 360Outdoor calendar β€’ Ensure staff availability and schedule contract staff and volunteers when needed β€’ Assist program leads with transportation scheduling if needed β€’ Be main liaison with 360Outdoors and Ability360 marketing team(Website maintenance & Cognito Forms/Sign ups) β€’ Attend and facilitate majority of 360Outdoors Programs(Occasional overnight programming is required) β€’ Drive Ability360 vehicles and tow trailers for program delivery(Occasional overnight travel is required) β€’ Assist in locating grant and funding opportunities β€’ When applicable assist with writing and attending functions to secure additional funding β€’ Maintain equipment inventory and ensure equipment is in safe working order β€’ Assist with 5310 vehicle maintenance and reporting β€’ Recruit and assist with volunteer trainings in various outdoor recreation events and topics related to working with people with disabilities, and risk management β€’ Recruit members and community at large to attend trip to maximize trip attendance β€’ Primary communicator with outfitters and community partners to facilitate 360Outdoor Programs β€’ Primary communicator with members and volunteers that attend 360Outdoor programming β€’ Maintain trip budgets and complete monthly board report information β€’ Evaluate volunteer, participant and vendor satisfaction β€’ Assist in the creation, planning, & implementation of special events & specialty programs β€’ Collaborate with community organizations and assist with outreach to offer a variety of programs β€’ Provide member assessments, ongoing progress notes, and evaluations β€’ Provide supervision for interns and/or volunteers β€’ Address questions and concerns regarding fitness programs and facility β€’ Maintain and care for fitness program equipment β€’ Assist with opening or closing duties of the facility β€’ Greet customers, direct them to activities, and address their questions β€’ Operate multi-line telephone system, providing information and/or directing calls to the appropriate person β€’ Register customers for a wide variety of programs and passes, using a specialized software registration system β€’ Serve as cashier, receiving and entering all fees and transactions and balancing daily reports β€’ Perform clerical duties including, but not limited to, word processing, data entry, photocopying, and filing β€’ Assist with a variety of administrative functions including, but not limited to, producing flyers, maintaining concession inventory, and assisting with facility rentals β€’ Perform other job-related duties as assigned Hours:Work schedule requires a great deal of flexibility and is dependent upon program needs and will include some early mornings, evenings, multi-day programming and weekends.Please only apply if you can fulfill the time requirements. Supervisory Responsibility:Assist with supervision of contract staff, interns and/or volunteers in various programs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Exceptional ability to work cooperatively with others and create a positive relationship with staff and the Ability360 Sports & Fitness Center members. Have a considerable knowledge of adaptive recreation principles, theories and techniques. Knowledge of adaptive equipment in fitness, sports, recreation programs, and risk management. Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Adaptive Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; and three years of professional experience working with people with disabilities in the fitness field; or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the above-described duties. Must have current First Aid and CPR certification. Clean criminal background required. Possess and keep a current Arizona driver license. He / she must have and maintain a clean driving record, free from citations and points. Driver will provide Ability360 with a current Motor Vehicle Record and continue to provide annual updates of such record. Working Conditions:Pressures and stress of the position include dealing with crisis situations, meeting deadlines and supporting a wide variety of participant and staff needs. Work is performed in a highly visible, busy environment, with a large volume of public contact and disruptions.
