About the Company:
The company is a leader in transportation software and hardware solutions, and they need a Program Manager for their team in Los Angeles to lead several related projects. The Program Manager will lead the efforts of several Project Managers and work with various teams across our organization to execute on the delivery of the Transit Agency.
Job Description:
Our Program Managers are leaders who are especially adaptive and wear many hats to lead several projects in support of achieving the objectives of a Program for our customers. The Transit Agency Program Manager will be responsible for leading program planning, execution and reporting of progress on the program for internal and external stakeholders, including Governance with internal and external C-Suite leaders. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the Program stays on track by leading the Project Managers to ensure the constituent projects in the Program stay within scope and meet time and budget targets. This position also works closely with technical delivery teams and the Program Subcontractors to ensure the Program implementations are successful.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Direct and manage the Transit Agency contract and constituent projects from beginning to end within the allotted scope, time, and budget to achieve organizational Revenue and Cash Flow targets and successfully transition the constituent projects into long-term Maintenance.
• Lead and manage constituent projects to achieve Transit Agency’s Program goals and business goals, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders from both organizations.
• Work with various teams across the organization, Transit Agency, third-party vendors and others to plan and coordinate delivery efforts.
• Proactively manage changes in scope for projects within the program.
• Lead efforts of Organizational Change Management to help the Transit Agency optimize the benefits of our solutions.
• Develop, maintain and monitor project Risk Registers to ensure risks are highlighted early with the appropriate mitigation plan to address the risk.
• Conduct regular Governance/Executive Steering Meetings with Transit Agency and internal Executive Sponsors
• Coach, motivate, mentor and supervise project manager and other project team members and contractors, and influence them to take proactive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to success
• Display proactive willingness to learn and understand the program software/hardware and the mechanics of their implementation and deployment.
• Set and continually manage expectations with team members and other stakeholders to achieve program goals and outcomes.
• Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, issue logs, action item registers, and presentations, as required.
• Contribute to further best practices and tools for Program and project execution.
• Conduct post mortems with recommendation reports to identify best practices and lessons learned to improve program executionLOCATION:The selected candidate will work out of our office in downtown Los Angeles.
Required Experience:
• Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in a Technology or Business Field strongly preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience as a vendor-based Program Manager, having managed at least three programs of similar nature, >$50M in total revenue.
• At least 4 years of experience managing Programs that include simultaneous projects, having diverse system and contractual requirements, and competing deadlines.
• At least 4 years of experience in Consulting/Business Analysis.
• Possess excellent consulting and business analysis skills.
• Previous experience as a project manager in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proven leader in problem-solving and analysis.
• Experience managing Software Delivery projects or Systems Integration (Hardware & Software solutions) engagements both Fixed Price and Time & Material.
• Two or more of these engagements must have included a Requirements Compliance Matrix that would have been successfully managed by the candidate.
• Having worked in the Public Transit industry is a significant plus
• Familiar with agile project delivery methodologies a plus.
• PMP certification preferred, or those working towards certification.
• Available for travel of up to 25% with possible weekend and nighttime activity as needed.Pay:$140k and above (Pay is commensurate with skills and experience)
