Project Accountant

We are looking for a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Sunnyvale, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing key financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and maintaining compliance with project budgets and schedules. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting and construction-related financial operations. Responsibilities: • Process subcontractor billings and material invoices on a bi-monthly and monthly basis. • Develop and maintain organized files, forms, purchase orders, subcontract documentation, meeting minutes, and other relevant records. • Support client billing processes and prepare quarterly accounting reports for the corporate office. • Collaborate with the lead project accountant to obtain tax documentation for subcontract billing cycles and owner tax exemption requirements. • Monitor project data to ensure compliance with established budgets and schedules. • Track and report key accounting indicators to provide insights into project performance. • Manage technical information to support project delivery and resolve challenges effectively. • Oversee copying, filing, and distribution of jobsite correspondence. • Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functions, such as pivot tables and data analysis, to streamline reporting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams. • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, such as pivot tables and data management, are preferred. • Familiarity with Tier I accounting software or similar systems is required; experience with Oracle JD Edwards Enterprise-One is a plus. • Prior experience in job costing or cost accounting within the construction industry is preferred. • Ability to organize technical data accurately and efficiently. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective interpersonal relationships. • Capacity to maintain a cooperative attitude and perform well under pressure. • Experience in contractual billing, cost analysis, lien waivers, and construction accounting processes.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
