Project Accountant

Job Title:Project Accountant Location:Seattle, WA – Onsite Employment Type:6-Month Contract Pay Range:$32 – $37/hour DOE Position Summary: We are seeking a skilledProject Accountantto join our team for a 6-month contract engagement. This role will provide accounting support for assigned projects, ensuring accurate financial tracking, timely reporting, and compliance with company policies and contractual requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in project-based accounting, and the ability to collaborate closely with project managers and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: • Set up and maintain project accounts in accordance with contract terms. • Prepare and review project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports. • Monitor and reconcile project expenses, revenue, and billings. • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions related to projects. • Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as necessary. • Track project progress against financial milestones and budgets. • Collaborate with project managers to analyze variances and address discrepancies. • Prepare month-end and project-end financial reports. • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies. • Support audits and provide documentation as needed. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 2+ years of project accounting or job cost accounting experience. • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Deltek, SAP, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in construction, engineering, or professional services industries. • CPA or CPA candidate. Work Environment: • Onsite in Seattle, WA. • Standard business hours with occasional extended hours during reporting periods.
