Job Description

Summary: Arrowmark is seeking a detail-oriented and experiencedProject Accountantto support financial operations on heavy civil construction projects. This role will be responsible for managing project budgets, tracking costs, processing invoices, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with project managers, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain financial accuracy throughout the project lifecycle. Key Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage job cost reports and track project budgets and expenses • Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices, lien waivers, and change orders • Reconcile project financials and assist in month-end close processes • Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices in alignment with contracts and POs. • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy of job costing and forecasting • Assist in preparing monthly project billings and ensure timely submission • Maintain up-to-date and organized project files and documentation • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections as needed • Perform detailed monthly reconciliations for all assigned projects and project balance sheets to ensure financial integrity • Act as a primary point of contact for internal and external project audits, preparing and organizing all required financial documentation and providing clear explanations for project transactions. • Conduct monthly audits to ensure project financials are accurately stated in accounting system Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree preferred • 3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry • Proficient in AIA billing and construction contract documentation • Strong understanding of job costing and project financials • Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Vista, Sage 300, Procore, or similar) • Experience using Project Management software such as HCSS Heavy Job or similar • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and on-site full-time in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements: Work is conducted in both indoor office settings, and outdoor constructions jobsite settings. Travel to job sites as required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit for long periods of time, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting is required.
