Project Accountant – Commercial Construction

Project Accountant – Commercial Construction Seattle, WA Our client, a local General Contractor, is looking for aProject Accountantto manage project accounting and compliance on large commercial construction projects. This role provides financial oversight from project setup through closeout, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strong collaboration with project teams. In this role, you’ll handle job cost tracking, reporting, and compliance functions while working closely with project managers, subcontractors, and accounting leadership. It’s an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong construction experience. Project Accountant Responsibilities: • Manage project cost accounting from contract setup, job cost cycle, through compliance and close of the project • Process and review invoices, pay applications, and budget updates • Track and reconcile change orders and financial revisions • Prepare job cost reports, owner/lender draw packages, and monthly close support • Ensure compliance with contracts, insurance, and lien release requirements • Collaborate with project and accounting teams to align budgets and cost codes Project Accountant Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • At least 5 years of experience in construction accounting for large projects • Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, reporting, and compliance • This candidate should have strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel • Experience with Spectrum or similar systems is preferred and familiarity with Procore or related systems is a plus • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills Company Benefits: • 100% covered medical, dental, vision, and life insurance for employees • 401K with a 4% match • Continuing education reimbursement program Compensation: $90-110k/year www.nwrecruitingpartners.com Job Type: Full-time Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Disability insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
