Position: Project Accountant & Financial Analyst
Location:Phoenix, AZ / Hybrid
Reports to:Financial Controller
Position Summary:
NOW CFO is seeking aProject Accountant & Financial Analystto join our client’s team. This hybrid role is a key contributor to the Group’s finance function, with responsibilities split by approximately60% accountingand40% financial analysis and operational support. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, analytical skills, and a proactive mindset to support both financial reporting and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting (60%)
• Lead and support project accounting, including monthly revenue recognition and margin tracking at the project level.
• Reconcile physical inventory to general ledger balances and resolve variances.
• Participate in month/quarter/year-end close processes, including preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Manage general ledger and maintain monthly balance sheet schedules.
• Support external audits and ensure timely responses to auditor requests.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Assist with cash management and contribute to ERP implementation (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).
• Research and prepare technical accounting memos related to ASC 842, ASC 350, ASC 718, ASC 606, and other relevant standards.
• Assist in the design and implementation of internal controls and process improvements.
Financial Analysis & Operations Support (40%)
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Identify and support cost reduction opportunities and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams across multiple time zones.
• Provide financial insights and reporting to support strategic initiatives.
• Support ERP optimization and reporting enhancements.
• Utilize tools such as Power BI and SQL for data analysis and visualization (preferred).
Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; or CPA certified or pursuing certification.
• 5–6 years of experience, ideally with a mix of public accounting (Big 4) and industry experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Experience leading or managing AP functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Preferred:
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with SQL and Microsoft Power BI.
• Fast and accurate data entry skills.
