System One Inc. is seeking aProject Controls Specialistto support the Natrium Demonstration Project. This role provides oversight and guidance to project teams, ensuring effective planning, cost control, risk management, and execution of engineering and construction activities. The specialist will help establish and mature the project controls framework and serve as a backup to the Master Scheduler.Key Responsibilities
Project Controls Leadership
• Partner with Project Managers to implement standardized controls across scheduling, cost, risk, and change management.
• Support project office setup, including tools, reporting standards, and governance.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards for schedule, cost, and productivity tracking.
Planning & Scheduling
• Guide development of CPM-based schedules; validate logic and sequencing.
• Support schedule conflict resolution and recovery analysis.
• Integrate cross-discipline schedules (engineering, procurement, construction).
Cost Control & Performance
• Track cost performance vs. budget; recommend corrective actions.
• Apply earned value management (EVM) principles.
• Assist in budget forecasting and cash flow planning.
Risk & Change Management
• Support risk identification and mitigation planning.
• Manage change requests and assess schedule/cost impacts.
• Maintain change logs and provide impact analysis.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
• Deliver integrated reports on schedule, cost, risk, and performance.
• Conduct scenario analysis and lessons-learned reviews.
• Mentor team members on project controls best practices.Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in project controls within EPC environments.
• Expertise in CPM scheduling and Primavera P6.
• Strong background in cost control, EVM, and budget forecasting.
• Familiarity with risk and change management processes.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Experience establishing project controls in complex environments.
• Knowledge of large industrial, nuclear, or regulated facilities preferred.Preferred Skills
• Engineering or construction planning background.
• Understanding of heavy industrial or infrastructure systems.
