What you'll do and how you'll have an impact

On larger projects, the Project Coordinator works to assist project managers with the coordination of resources, equipment, meetings, and information. He/she organizes projects with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget.  On smaller projects, the Project Coordinator is assuming the role of Project Manager.

Coaching and mentoring are not an essential part of the Project Coordinator’s responsibilities, however, he/she may occasionally provide direction and assistance to other team members concerning their involvement with the various monitoring and control processes.

The responsibilities of the Project Coordinator include

- Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures.

- Organizing, attending, and participating in stakeholder meetings.

- Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from meetings.

- Preparing necessary presentation materials for meetings.

- Ensuring project deadlines are met.

- Coordinating the project change management activities.

- Providing administrative support as needed.

- Undertaking project tasks as required.

- Supporting the development of project strategies.

- Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project.

- Coordinating the risk management activities.

- Supporting the execution of the quality assurance activities.

- Attending meetings, documenting minutes/action plans, and distributing to appropriate team members.

- Creating and maintaining a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.

The Project Coordinator demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and takes pride in the accuracy of the information provided. He/she is highly organized and promotes adherence to processes.

A highly successful Project Coordinator is an excellent communicator and has good interpersonal skills.
