If you have experience withWork Authorization Forms (WAFs), shipyard safety, and coordinating repair activities, we want to hear from you! Position Overview As aWAF Coordinator, you will play a critical role inmanaging ship repair activities, ensuring all work followsNAVSEA guidelines, and maintaining the highest levels of safety and compliance. You’ll oversee WAF documentation, train shipyard personnel, coordinate with ship’s force, and manage system tagouts to protect both personnel and equipment. Responsibilities • Develop, review, and manageWork Authorization Forms (WAFs)for all shipboard repair activities. • Train repair personnel onWAF proceduresand submit required training documentation. • Maintain accuratedaily repair logsand provide updates to ship’s force and repair departments. • Ensure all repair work followsNAVSEA and OSHA safety standards. • Schedule and coordinate repair tasks with ship’s force to prevent conflicts with other ship systems. • Managesystem tagout isolations, ensuring all procedures are properly documented. • Develop and submitcompartment closure listsduring each repair availability. • Coordinate subcontractor and government AIT work to align with ongoing ship repairs. Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent (required). • Strong knowledge ofship operating systemsand how repairs affect overall operations. • Experience working in ashipyard or maritime environment. • Familiarity withNAVSEA guidelines, ship repair terminology, and tagout procedures. • Ability to make sound judgment calls regardingsystem repairs and safety compliance. • Previous experience withWAF coordination, training personnel, or ship repair planningpreferred.
