Project Manager - Assistant - Construction

Our team is growing at RJ Smith Construction, and we’re looking for someone organized, friendly, and ready to dive in and help our project manager keep everything running smoothly. The Role As our new Project Manager Assistant, you’ll be right in the heart of things—helping coordinate projects, keeping an eye on schedules, talking to crews and suppliers, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks. If you like variety in your day and love seeing a project come together from the ground up, you’ll fit right in. What You’ll Do • Help our project manager keep track of tasks, deadlines, and paperwork • Communicate with subcontractors, suppliers, and construction team • Update, organize, and manage files (contracts, permits, schedules) • Use your Excel and computer skills to help with reports, budgets, and project tracking • Pitch in on site visits and help document inspections • Schedule meetings and take notes so nothing is missed • Help wherever you’re needed—we’re a team! What We’re Looking For • Computer savvy—you’re comfortable with MS Office, especially Excel and Google Sheets. • A strong communicator (in person, over the phone, and in emails/messages) • Some experience in construction is awesome, but if you’re highly organized and eager to learn, we want to meet you • Able to work in the office and occasionally on site • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus What You Get • Competitive pay • Friendly team that’ll teach you what you need to know • Real opportunities to grow your career • A chance to help build some awesome things in our community Compensation • This position is as an independent contractor • Pay is based on commissions tied to project performance (approximately $50,000-$70,000 per year) Ready to Join Us?
