Thalle Construction Co., Inc. is pleased to announce a career opportunity for a Project Manager – Materials Processing to oversee mining, crushing, and aggregate processing operations on the Central Everglades Planning Project (CEPP) Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) A-2 Reservoir in Palm Beach County, Florida. This will be a 10-year project and marks the largest contract in the Jacksonville District’s history, valued at $2.87 billion. Thalle will oversee the construction of a 17.75-mile embankment dam and associated structures. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of aggregate production projects—from initial planning through execution and delivery—while ensuring safety, efficiency, compliance, and profitability. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in heavy civil construction, quarry operations, or materials processing with strong leadership and organizational skills. • Lead and manage aggregate production projects, including mining, blasting, crushing, screening, and material handling operations. • Develop project plans, budgets, schedules, and resource allocations to meet production goals and deadlines. • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and optimization of crushing and processing equipment. • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and federal/state/local regulatory standards. • Monitor production metrics (throughput, yield, downtime, cost efficiency) and implement process improvements. • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services. • Collaborate with engineers, quality control teams, and field supervisors to meet specifications and client requirements. • Conduct risk assessments, troubleshoot operational issues, and resolve conflicts as they arise. • Prepare progress reports, cost tracking, and forecasting for senior leadership. • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement across all operations. • Identify competent subcontractors and suppliers for projects by comparing and evaluating them based on price, scope, schedule, terms, qualifications and history with Thalle. • Oversee the issuance of subcontracts and supplier purchase orders. • Ensure the appropriate performance management of subcontractors. • Ensure all site operations adhere to Company and site safety policies and protocols. Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years of progressive experience in mining, aggregates, or materials processing, with at least 3 years in a project management or supervisory role. • Strong knowledge of crushing, screening, and material handling equipment. • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously. • Familiarity with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental compliance regulations. • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. • Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. • PMP certification or equivalent project management credential preferred.
