Project Manager – Mechanical Contracting Salary:$80,000 – $110,000 annually (based on experience) Schedule:Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (additional hours as needed) Location:Melrose Park, IL Employment Type:Full-Time | In-Person & On-Site About Demco, Inc. Founded in 1985, Demco, Inc. is a fast-growing commercial mechanical contracting firm serving the Chicagoland area. Our specialties include commercial HVAC, sheet metal, design-build, and custom metal projects such as trash and linen chutes. We are built on craftsmanship, integrity, and long-term client relationships. Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven professional with astrong understanding of mechanical contractingto oversee and coordinate commercial projects from bid to close-out. Project management experience is a plus but not required - we value hands-on knowledge of the trade, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver successful projects. This is ahands-onrole requiring both office and field work. Key Responsibilities • Prepare accurate project bids, budgets, and schedules • Review specifications, blueprints, and bid requests • Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors • Oversee on-site work, ensuring compliance with plans, codes, and safety standards • Track progress, budgets, and deliverables; provide regular status reports • Manage documentation including submittals, purchase orders, change orders, lien waivers, and invoices • Monitor labor and subcontractor efficiency • Maintain strong client relationships and resolve issues quickly • Take ownership of project outcomes from start to finish Qualifications • Solid understanding of mechanical contracting, commercial HVAC, and/or sheet metal work • Ability to read blueprints, perform measurements, and interpret construction documents • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and QuickBooks Online (BuildingConnected and Bluebeam a plus) • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities • High attention to detail and problem-solving mindset • Knowledge of building codes, safety standards, and compliance requirements • Positive, proactive work ethic and willingness to be both in-office and on-site Benefits • Weekly Pay • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance • 401(k) with Company Match • Paid Time Off & Holidays • Paid Jury Duty & Bereavement Leave • Supportive team culture with long-term career growth opportunities How to Apply Submit your resume and cover letter [email protected].
