Job Description

Enovative is a full-service mechanical contracting company that specializes in commercial HVAC/R maintenance, service, and projects, as well as multifamily hot water service, and building energy retrofit projects. Due to recent growth, we are seeking a Project Surveyor plays a key role in gathering field data and documenting building system components in support of Water heaters, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and electrical upgrades. This person will visit sites across the region, locate equipment, take detailed measurements, and support the permitting process. They’ll use tablets, smartphones, and Excel to record and upload survey information. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction or building systems and be comfortable working independently in the field. A background in electrical or HVAC is highly preferred, though not required. Responsibilities include: • Conduct on-site building system assessments across multiple locations • Measure, photograph, and document existing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and refrigeration systems • Identify hidden components (behind ceilings, walls, or floors) based on construction knowledge • Upload documentation into company database or cloud-based system using laptops/tablets • Assist in preparing permitting documentation and labeling • Travel across greater LA area using personal vehicle (gas card provided) • Communicate field findings clearly to project teams Additional Responsibilities (as needed): • Draft site sketches or drawings • Assist in research or survey calculations for complex site conditions • Support other teams with special projects or permitting logistics • Engage in professional development or training in specialized equipment Preferred Skills and Abilities • 1+ years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related construction trades • Comfortable using Excel, smartphones, tablets, and cloud storage • Able to independently identify building components on-site • Strong attention to detail, organized, and dependable • Must be physically able to walk and climb around job sites safely Requirements and Qualifications • Associates and or Bachelors Degree • 2+ years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related construction trades • Comfortable using Excel, smartphones, tablets, and cloud storage • Able to independently identify building components on-site • Valid driver’s license • Strong attention to detail, organized, and dependable • Must be physically able to walk and climb around job sites safely Preferred: • Knowledge of permitting processes in California • Refrigeration background • Familiarity with blueprint reading or AutoCAD (a plus, not required) Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM could be a little flexible Work Set-up: Field based across Los Angeles County; very occasional office meetings Field Work Required: Yes – daily site visits Vehicle Use: Employee will use their own vehicle; a gas card is provided Enovative Mechanical and Energy Services offers high-quality employee benefits that start the 1st day of the month after your start date! • PaidMedical Insurance • PaidDental Insurance • Vision Insurance • PaidLife Insurance • 401(k) Retirement Plan • 401(k) Matching • Generous PTO policy, starting at 10 days paid time off • Paid holidays • Company Laptop • Company Phone As a company, Enovative Mechanical and Energy Services is dedicated to providing every employee with the opportunity and environment to continue to grow and contribute, individually and as part of a team.
