Job Description

Required Skills: Bachelor’s in accounting or Business required. Ideal candidate must have 1 - 3 years accounting experience, strong knowledge of accounting theory, practice, and financial reporting. Must have knowledge and be pro-active with GAAP standards and procedures. Must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, follow-through, and follow-up, meet commitments and deadlines, and must be a quick learner, have accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Skills: Proficiency with Yardi Accounting Software Commercial property management industry experience a plus Job Responsibilities: Property Accountant… Prepare accurate and timely financial statements Prepare bank reconciliations for all managed entities Prepare capital improvement schedules Prepare lender financial reporting requirements Reconcile escrow accounts to lender statements and record escrow activity as appropriate Reconcile accounts receivable to the Aged Delinquencies Reports Reconcile security deposits payable to the Security Deposit Audit Report Analyze and approve prepared security deposit dispositions Provide information to outside auditors and investors as requested Reconcile mortgages payable to lender statements Reconcile owner capital accounts Record monthly accruals, adjustments, and other journal entries as appropriate Reconcile balance sheet accounts and certain P&L accounts monthly Coordinate year end audit with outside auditors Record year-end adjusting entries and reconcile retained earnings to outside audit reports Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Disability insurance Flexible schedule Flexible spending account Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Physical Setting: Office Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Bonus Pay Work location: In person Job Type: Full-time Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Disability insurance • Flexible schedule • Flexible spending account • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid sick time • Professional development assistance • Tuition reimbursement • Vision insurance Education: • Bachelor's (Required) Experience: • Accounting: 3 years (Required) Ability to Commute: • Houston, TX 77063 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Houston, TX 77063: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
