Job Title:Property Accountant
Location:Seattle, WA – Onsite
Employment Type:6-Month Contract
Pay Range:$30 – $35/hour DOE
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-orientedProperty Accountantto support our accounting team on a 6-month contract. This role will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting of assigned properties, including accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and communication with property management teams. The ideal candidate will have experience in property management or real estate accounting and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties.
•
Perform bank reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, and tenant ledger reconciliations.
•
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
•
Record journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
•
Monitor property budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.
•
Prepare and review CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and billings.
•
Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
•
Ensure compliance with lease agreements and accounting policies.
•
Collaborate with property managers to resolve discrepancies.
•
Assist with audits, tax preparation, and other reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
•
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in property management or real estate.
•
Proficiency with property management accounting software (Yardi, MRI, RealPage) and Microsoft Excel.
•
Strong understanding of GAAP.
•
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
•
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
CPA or CPA candidate.
•
Experience with both commercial and residential property portfolios.
Work Environment:
•
Onsite in Seattle, WA.
•
Standard business hours with potential for occasional extended hours during reporting periods.
