Our real estate and property management client is seeking aProperty Accounting Managerto oversee all financial operations related to a diverse portfolio of real estate assets. This individual will lead a team of accountants, manage monthly close processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and operational best practices. The ideal candidate brings deep Yardi expertise, a proactive leadership style, and the ability to drive efficiency in a dynamic, high-volume environment.Key Responsibilities
•
Oversee the financial reporting process for a portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties
•
Lead month-end and year-end close, including review of journal entries, accruals, and financial packages
•
Ensure accurate and timely preparation of property-level financial statements
•
Maintain integrity of general ledger and sub-ledgers in Yardi system
•
Review and approve bank reconciliations, CAM reconciliations, and other property-level reporting
•
Coordinate with operations, property managers, and external partners on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
•
Manage and mentor accounting staff; set performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching
•
Collaborate with leadership to implement accounting policies, improve controls, and enhance system workflows
•
Support audits, tax reporting, and other regulatory compliance effortsQualifications
Required:
•
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•
5+ years of property or real estate accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
•
Advanced proficiency in Yardi isrequired
•
Strong understanding of GAAP, CAM reconciliations, and property management accounting practices
•
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
•
Experience working in a hybrid environment and managing multiple deadlines
