About the Company:

Worldcoin (www.worldcoin.org) is an open-source protocol, supported by a global community of developers, individuals, economists and technologists committed to expanding participation in, and access to, the global economy. Its community is united around core beliefs in the inherent worth and equality of every individual, the right to personal privacy, and open and public collaboration. These beliefs are reflected in what the community is building: a public utility to connect everyone to the global economy.

The Worldcoin Foundation (www.worldcoin.foundation) is the protocol’s steward and will support and grow the Worldcoin community until it becomes self-sufficient.  Tools for Humanity (www.toolsforhumanity.com)  is a global hardware and software development company.  It helped launch Worldcoin and continues to provide support to the Foundation, in addition to operating the World App.

The Legal team is responsible for all of Worldcoin’s legal and government affairs globally. We have earned a reputation for responsiveness, technical acumen, practicality, and integrity. Everyday, we have a high impact.

About the Opportunity

This is a unique role offering the opportunity to shape and execute strategic public policy engagement and on-the-ground expansion initiatives of a complex global Web3 initiative. Reporting to the Global Head of Public Policy, the Public Policy Manager is an instrumental member of the team - charting strategic growth opportunities, developing new governmental and community partnerships, and interfacing directly with government officials and third party partners across East Asia, Oceania, and India. You will join a team of visionaries seeking to quickly expand Tools for Humanity’s reach in a heavily outward facing and strategic role. The role pulls together input on a range of local legal considerations, including financial / cryptocurrency regulations, data protection & privacy, logistics, and labor & employment and builds and executes cross-functional public policy campaigns across a variety of national, sub-national, and supranational governmental institutions. Moreover, the role is highly cross-functional and will partner closely with our expansion and on-the-ground operations teams. It will also develop close working relationships with our teams responsible for product development, trust & safety, logistics, and legal.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in building partnerships with third-party and government stakeholders, and communicating the values of Tools for Humanity to elected officials, regulators, the media, third-party stakeholders and other key constituencies. You will also be comfortable working in an environment with evolving goals and have an aptitude to overcome obstacles as they arise.

You will:

  • Build and execute a policy engagement strategy aimed at developing new business opportunities directly with government partners and creating the public policy conditions necessary for expansion
  • Keep abreast of and advise on important changes in regulatory or legislative matters across the region
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and discern strategic paths toward game changing regulatory change
  • Continuously build and nurture relationships with government leaders, partners, businesses, organizations and other prospective partners to carry out legislative strategy and strategic development
  • Partner with organizations, educational institutions and similar groups to align with Tools for Humanity’s mission in Europe.
  • Support the company’s work with strategic advisers and consultants

About you:

  • “Hands-on and creative problem-solver, who understands on-the-ground complexities and is passionate about building scalable ways to account for them.”
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least seven years related experience working in government, campaigns, and/or advocacy in a highly regulated field.
  • Existing government and advocacy contacts across Asia, Oceania, and India with the aptitude to develop and nurture new contacts as required
  • Experience developing successful legislative and regulatory strategies ideally at both the national and international levels
  • Excellent English communications skills and comfortability speaking in public are required.
  • Ability to comfortably work on multiple priorities at once while executing projects in a demanding environment
  • Availability to travel at least 25% of the time depending on business needs
