Public Works Laborer - Parks Custodial CITY OF WACO, TEXAS 300 Austin Ave, Waco, Texas 76701 United States Posted: Aug 01, 2025 Salary:See Position Description USD Full Time Construction and Skilled Trades Custodial and Janitorial Parks and Recreation Public Works Summary Minimum Starting Salary: $15.90 Per Hour - Depending on Qualifications The City of Waco Seeks A Public Works Laborer with experience in custodial and grounds keeping duties. This position will help maintain the beautiful parks across the City. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors, maintaining the cleanliness of park restrooms, and operating various equipmen t as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Required: • Valid Texas Driver's LicensePreferred: • 1 y ear of experience in landscaping and grounds keeping work Position Overview Under close supervision, performs unskilled and semiskilled general labor work in cleaning and maintenance of City parks and grounds. Essential Duties • Performs unskilled and semiskilled manual labor tasks to maintain safe and attractive park system; maintains park facilities and grounds, enforces rules and regulations, and follows all safety rules and regulations to minimize risk of accidents; duties may vary according to job assignment. • Operates basic equipment and performs basic tasks, including weed control, mowing and watering; cleans up trash and debris and cleans facilities; prunes and trims trees and shrubs; loads and hauls materials. • Maintains tools and equipment; reports unsafe acts, conditions, accidents, and injuries; performs emergency cleaning and maintenance work as directed. • Follow all current City of Waco Safety policies and procedures.
