Education / Licensing Requirements: Bachelors’ in Pharmacy or PharmD and valid Texas Pharmacy License required. Experience Requirements: 3-5 years prior pharmacist experience. Position Overview: Ensures prescription accuracy at every stage of the pharmaceutical dispensing process. Provides leadership and electronically oversees pharmacy technician entries. Positions reporting to this position: Direct reports: None Essential Skills/Experience Strong communication skills Organizational skills Proven time management skills Team player Attention to detail Pharmacology knowledge Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task Characteristics Sense of urgency Organized, detail oriented; catches errors early Ethical; respects confidentiality Responsibilities: § Oversees and verifies pharmacy technicians orders. § Reviews and interprets physician’s orders to detect therapeutic incompatibilities. § Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, and FDA. § Contacts physicians to receive clarification on prescriptions. § Corrects errors made during the prescription order entry process. § Approves medications to move to the delivery scheduling or prior authorization stage. § Knowledgeable regarding Senderra’s community values and demonstrates them daily. § Participates in staff meetings, conference calls, and other meetings, as needed. § Performs other incidental and related duties as required. Working Conditions: § Fast-paced environment. § Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant. § Requires normal hearing levels (corrected). § Requires working at a desk to use a phone and computer for extended periods of time. Requires sitting, bending. § Uses office equipment and machinery effectively. § Requires normal finger dexterity for keyboarding. § Works effectively with frequent interruptions. § Lifting requirements of 15 pounds occasionally. § Minimal travel <10%. Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Pharmacist Team Lead.
