Position Overview: Senderra is looking for a highly motivated staff pharmacist to join our dispensing pharmacist team. This position will report to our Plano pharmacy location 5 days per week (Monday-Friday). The Dispensing Pharmacist (PV2) is responsible for ensuring prescription fulfillment accuracy and order completeness, as well as providing leadership and operational oversight to our pharmacy technician and shipping staff. Positions reporting to this position: Direct reports: None Essential Skills/Experience Effective communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills Proven time management skills Collaborative teamwork skills Highly detail oriented Analytical and Clinical skills Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and problem solve Characteristics Adapts well to changes in workflow Organized, detail oriented; catches errors early Ethical; respects confidentiality Possesses a high level of integrity Customer service focused Staff Pharmacist (PV1) 10/18/2017 Works independently Requires minimal supervision Able to maintain an elevated level of focus Responsibilities: ▪ Oversees and verifies pharmacy technicians' orders. ▪ Performs the Prescription Verification Process (PV2) to ensure prescription accuracy and order completeness. ▪ Adheres to organizational Policies and Procedures and all state and federal drug laws governing pharmacy practice. ▪ Ensures compliance with industry standards and accreditation requirements established by URAC, ACHC and VIPPS. ▪ Identifies errors made during the prescription order entry process and redirects orders to be corrected prior to dispensing. ▪ Approves medication orders to be packaged and shipped to the patient once deemed accurate and complete. ▪ Knowledgeable regarding Senderra’s community values and demonstrates them daily. ▪ Actively participates in staff meetings, conference calls, and other meetings, as needed. ▪ Provides prescription consultation to walk-in customers. ▪ Works collaboratively with other departments to support clinical services, operational efficiencies, and manufacturer programs. ▪ Uses effective communication and clinical skills to interact with other healthcare professionals, coworkers, and patients. ▪ Supports continuous process and operational improvements. • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Staff Pharmacist (PV1) 10/18/2017 • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers with respect to differences in cultures, values, beliefs, and ages, utilizing interpreters when needed. Secondary Responsibilities: • Must be able to utilize pharmacy software system to aid in the review and preparation of prescriptions. This shall include pre-verification, bar code scanning, product integrity verification, and other functions as deemed appropriate by the Pharmacist In Charge. • Assists in directing pharmacy support staff to streamline daily operations and provide efficient, safe, and accurate pharmacy services. • Must be able to interact with the pharmacy software computer vendor’s help desk to resolve IT issues that arise. • Must possess a proficiency to utilize and navigate the pharmacy’s electronic health record system. • Participate in Continuous Quality Management projects and data gathering as requested by the Pharmacist In Charge. • Assist the Pharmacist In Charge with any special projects as needed. Working Conditions: ▪ Fast-paced environment. ▪ Ability to stand 8 plus hours daily. ▪ Requires normal vision (corrected) both close and distant. ▪ Requires normal hearing levels (corrected). ▪ Requires standing, bending and lifting. ▪ Uses office equipment and machinery effectively. ▪ Requires normal finger dexterity for keyboarding. ▪ Works effectively with frequent interruptions. ▪ Lifting requirements of 15 pounds occasionally. ▪ Minimal travel <10%. Organizational Relationships: Reports to the Pharmacist In Charge.
