Overview:

We are seeking a smart, capable QA Engineer with experience in manual testing (automation a big plus) for web apps and mobile who is prepared to hit the ground running. This is a rare opportunity to be a part of a company at the top of the industry and growing.

Responsibilities

• Review requirements and participate in requirement refinement meetings with Product and development team to get clarity and give feedback
• Perform detailed testing that allows your expertise in exploratory testing to shine and perform any required regression testing
• Recommend improvements for the software features to enhance the user experience
• Create, maintain, and execute test cases
• Submit and manage defects
• Work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to make the product the best it can be
• Help to triage and debug issues reported by users, and internal teams
• Ensure products meet customer expectations and demand
• Assist in developing and maintaining team standards for product reliability and performance within our growing agile team
• Work to own all things quality as part of the engineering squad, as part of the company, and go beyond just testing to help contribute to evolving our “Focus of Quality” at StartEngine!

Desired Qualifications

• Have a keen eye for review of designs and requirements, and comprehensive testing
• **MUST live in the United States, AND is authorized to work in the US for any employer - full time
• Ability to effectively review requirements & designs and raise questions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work with cross functional teams

Skills

• Experience manual testing for web and mobile applications (Mobile web and iOS)
• Experience using and testing with APIs. API automation is a plus
• Experience using Git, GitHub (or Bitbucket), and Jira
• Experience writing test cases and using test case management software
• Experience using web debugging proxies is a plus
• Comfortable using the command line
• Great team player with the ability to work with minimal supervision
