Opportunity

UJET is looking for a QA manager to join our team! Successful candidates for this role will be passionate about ensuring quality across our application and platform.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all new feature implementations and collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA engineers to define acceptance criteria and ensure proper test coverage 
  • Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies and best practices, including test plans, test cases, and a balanced approach to manual and automated testing
  • Identify critical and repetitive test scenarios and oversee the test automation activities including test case reviews, requirement analysis, implementation plan, test coverage, execution, report generation, and maintenance
  • Work closely with SDET for the implementation of automation testing, ensuring efficiency and reliability in testing processes
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development environments
  • Conduct thorough analysis of bugs, errors, and defects identified during testing phases, utilizing debugging tools, logs, and techniques to isolate root causes before escalating the issue to developers
  • Provide final QA sign off before merging the project branch to main 
  • Monitor QA activities, analyze test results, and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure that all releases comply with quality and performance standards before final QA
  • Provide QA estimates, technical recommendations, and proposed test solutions based on technical and business requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA engineers, helping them understand and adopt new tools, frameworks, and methodologies
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of testing processes and results to identify and address any risks, issues, or gaps
  • Communicate with stakeholders to provide updates on QA progress and any identified issues
  • Prioritize and allocate resources effectively across multiple projects, balancing competing deadlines and requirements
  • Manage projects and release schedules together with program managers and release managers
  • Implement root cause analysis for defects and provide recommendations for corrective action
  • Conduct regular assessments of the QA team’s performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate improvement plan
  • Work closely with Offshore/Onshore QA engineers to align testing goals and expectations
  • Assist with the onboarding and training of new QA engineers

Requirements

  • 10+  years in the field of software quality engineering, including a minimum of 5 years in leadership positions preferably at a SaaS company
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing methodologies
  • Solid analytical, and problem-solving skills and can work independently and manage the workload of multiple projects and tasks
  • Hands-on proficiency in QA tools and technologies, including QA automation
  • Experience with enterprise software, cloud services, SaaS platforms, or web applications is essential
  • Experience identifying and reviewing test plans, test cases and testing results with a strong QA background
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Extremely detail-oriented mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality software products
  • Stay focused under pressure, prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
