What is the opportunity?
The RBC Team is hiring for QE Analyst roles on the Fraud IT team. This role will require you to be located in Halifax and be able to commute to the office as you will be required to work at least 3 days per week, as indicated by your manager. As a Quality Engineering Analyst you to provide support for a suite of business mission-critical and complex applications, understanding both the front and back-end of the applications and will be doing hands-on testing ( Manual and Automation) on various projects. The technology platform spans the breadth of Unix/Linux platforms, Hadoop/HDFS , Python / Java environments, DB2 , Elastic Search, Kafka and Cloud Platforms.
What will you do?

Contribute to Test Plans on projects involved

Automate assigned areas/features using the existing Framework and build automation scripts using Python & Javascript

Responsible for designing effective test cases to bring test optimization.

Responsible for overall quality of testing deliverables/activities.

Support the implementation of the QE Program and overall QE process and standards through continuous test execution and reporting.

Leverages the existing automation frameworks, tools and artefacts to ensure the testing process is continuous, comprehensive and fully autonomous.

Hands-on experience in Python, Javascript, SQL and Unix testing platform, code reviews prior to code deployments, integration test automation.

Closely work with the Application Development team as one team to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline.

Work with QE lead/ Manager to identify E2E application changes to drive QE strategies during testing.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
-
Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or any related streams and requires 1- 2 years of QE related experience

Good knowledge of Testing Life Cycle, Shift left approach and Defect Management processes for application support and development.

Good knowledge on QE Processes, Methodologies and Testing concepts
-
Strong problem solving, design, and analytical skills and out-of-the-box thinking coming up with creative solutions on testing approaches in critical timelines.

Experience in any of test automation frameworks/tools e.g., (Robot Framework, ReadyAPI, Cucumber) and script development using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Javascript, Bash, etc.)
Nice-to-have

Hands-on coding experience in Python, SQL and HDFS/Hadoop

Exposure to working on Cloud, Elastic Search, Kafka platforms

QA-related certifications. E.g. ISTQB, Agile testing, Mobile Testing etc.

Exposure to software development on any language

Exposure to qTEST test Management Tool

Exposure to Helios or OCP platforms
