R&D Data management Coordinator (CAD-ITLM)

Role overview:

This position reports directly to the R&D Management Team in Hengelo.

The incumbent works closely together with R&D Hengelo, Corporate IT, Quality and Engineering departments.

Essential Functions:
CAD / PDM / ILCM Management
- Execution of operational task such as release and interfacing of articles and documents for R&D CAD/PDM and ILCM processes
- Coordinates and analyses problems, questions and requests in a team with regard to functionality in the technical content area of systems from national or international branches of the company.
- Coordinates contacts with external suppliers to obtain information regarding possibilities or possible adjustments and/or changes in the used systems (Model manager Capa, Enovia SAP, Baan, etc.)

- Discusses and evaluates the possibilities and barriers of existing IT infrastructure and digital communication with Corporate IT departments.

Administrator Technical Standard, Engineering manual
- Drawing up the (modular) product structure in a technical standard and module book
- Recording working methods and procedures for Engineering activities in the Engineering Manual
- Translates product changes into updates for technical standard or module book
- Leads meetings in which improvements to technical standard or module book are discussed
- Ensures on-line availability of the R&D site and maintain all relevant engineering information like norms, technical standards, etc.

Training and information:
- Makes technical standard and module book available to users
- Drafts and provides approval of user manuals
- Informs the organization about new, changed or expired parts of the technical standard or the module book
- Training, coaching and supporting users of CAD and ILCM software.

Expert advice and reporting:
- Provides senior management with expert advice on a strategic level regarding future tools, new technology and development in this field (with information from external benchmark companies), changes by law, CE standards etc. Also aligns on a senior level with internal stakeholders on data management within Eaton to provide internal benchmark information from other Eaton sites and discuss with IT Corporate on possible future implementation plans.
- Periodically reports to management on progress of projects and other activities, in accordance with applicable reporting structures.
- Support project management concerning technical administration.

Powers and responsibilities:
Is authorized to:
- the release of articles and documents
- the interface of articles and documents from the Engineering Data Base to ERP

Is responsible for:
- providing appropriate support in the mechanical technical field

- coordinating and supervising the administrative settlement of switchovers, opening orders, change orders and closing orders
- drawing up overviews and / or reports regarding the status of new projects
- ensuring the correct interface information between CAD and ERP
- supporting project managers on a technical administrative level
- managing and maintaining the master data, material specifications and article classification in the engineering data base.
- Outsourcing execution of ILCM work to engineers in Pune.
- Engineering and designing parts and products on the basis of a given plan.

Qualifications:

- Associate Degree (MBO+)/Bachelor educational background in Mechanical Engineering

- Technical Administration skills and knowledge and educational background in this field or willingness to further develop.
- Experience with CAD is required
- Overall systems skills and capability to further develop in technical administration expertise.
- R&D experience with Eaton products preferred
- Excellent communication skills and managerial capability to coordinate processes to push for improvements/simplification.
- ERP system experience is preferred
- Microsoft Office Skills
- Dutch and English language capabilities
