Job Description

Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position performs duties related to preparing information and patients for all radiologic modalities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Telephone management: Answers designated telephone calls in a courteous, timely manner. Responds to calls according to specific guidelines. Performs telephone screening and refers calls appropriately. Communicates and shares information with other departments as necessary.

  • Work Responsibilities: Transports patients to and from the Radiology Department to the appropriate patient location as needed, in accordance with scheduled request. Assist Radiologists as needed. Coordinates patient care activities and helps to ensure timely patient flow throughout the department. Works efficiently with minimal supervision. Ensures correct patient information is on armband and notifies nursing personnel of any discrepancies.

  • Computer System: May perform functions in Imagecast, IBM and EPIC care system related to job responsibilities as per Policy and Procedure.

  • Customer Service: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide Radiology services to all age group serviced. Facilitates patients cooperation and alleviates anxiety. Addresses all patients concerns. Provides timely, responsive, expert services to customers in a positive friendly manner, to include patients,
    physicians, and other fellow employees. Informs consumers and those accompanying them when delays exist and how they are being addressed. Maintains patient confidentiality.

  • General Behavior: Adheres to all applicable Cooperative-wide and Departmental Policies and Procedures, goals and protocols. Works as an effective team member with other colleagues to efficiently service the customer. Maintains a neat and clean work environment. Identifies staff training issues and participates in policy and procedures accounts. Maintains a neat and clean work environment.     appropriate to lead and/or manager. Rotates shifts and assignments as required.

Basic Qualifications: Experience

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a customer service setting.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to work with general supervision and multi-task in a fast pace environment.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and take initiative.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in Radiology Information Systems.
  • Vocational training in medical office procedures.
