The selected candidate will be responsible for managing an application engineering team developing Thermal Management Modules for Powertrain and Cabin Thermal Management Systems in passenger car and light truck applications.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete all engineering deliverables in Hanon and customer phase-gate development processes
  • Create and manage engineering statements of work (ESOWs) for purchased components
  • Manage relationships and workflow with key internal functions (CAD, CAE, Test lab, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, and Prototyping)
  • Facilitate design reviews and manage global and cross-functional input to product design
  • Complete APQP tasks aligned with product development responsibilities
  • Plan and manage prototype assembly supply supporting Hanon and customer development activity
  • Manage cost center operations to goals, including budget proposals, spending, forecasts, and analysis
  • Conduct and mentor disciplined problem-solving on technical issues
  • Interface with customers and obtain technical approval for Hanon designs
  • Support Product Group value improvement initiatives
  • Promote Hanon products in all venues and support new business pursuits
  • Participate on Hanon's global Core Engineering team for Thermal Management Modules
  • Promote skill and career development; mentor employees, and manage performance to objectives

Years of Experience

  • 7-10 years in thermal components and refrigerant systems engineering

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's degree preferred

Desired Competencies, Experience, & Qualifications

  • Design, develop, and release thermal systems and components
  • Expertise in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Dynamics, Structures, and Materials engineering
  • Heating and Refrigeration systems, battery thermal management systems operation and control
  • Design and manufacture of system components and assembly
  • 1D and computational fluid dynamics component and system analysis; finite element analysis and other modeling expertise refining structural design and performance
  • Mastery of APQP disciplines such as FMA, DFMEA, DVP&R, PVP&R, and Control Plans
  • Knowledge of AI and MBSE application principles
  • Disciplined problem-solving expertise
  • Leading and mentoring internal and customer Technical Design Reviews
  • Effective project planning, time management and mentoring skills
  • Effective oral and written presentation skills; practitioner with Microsoft Office Suite of tools

Special Requirements (i.e., Overtime, Travel, etc.)

  • Periodic travel to suppliers, customers, corporate offices, and manufacturing plants; including some international travel. Total travel
