Refrigeration Carpenter (Commercial)

Job Summary: A Refrigeration carpenter builds structures out of wood for commercial buildings, such as offices, factories, and warehouses. They use hand and power tools to perform physical labor on construction sites. Supervisory Responsibilities:None. Duties/Responsibilities: • Frame construction: Construct building frames using structural wood and metal • Install interior and exterior finishes: Install cabinets, trim, moldings, doors, and windows • Roofing: Install shingles, soffit, and gutters • Remodeling: Help remodel existing structures • Inspect and repair: Inspect structures for defects and replace damaged parts • Collaborate: Work with architects and contractors to resolve issues and ensure projects are executed efficiently • Maintain tools: Keep tools, equipment, and materials in good working order • Follow safety guidelines: Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and construction plans • Ability to measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work • Ability to apply problem-solving skills • Ability to communicate with co-workers and clients • Ability to work flexible hours and be willing to be on call. • Adherence to safety protocols related to refrigerant handling, electrical safety, and working in confined spaces. Education and Experience: • 2-year college/trade school certification or equivalent work experience. • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license with a clean driving record. • Strong Customer Service Skills. • Strong Communication skills (both verbal and written).
