Regional Senior Accountant – Phoenix, AZ
We’re looking for aRegional Senior Accountantto join our Phoenix office and play a pivotal role in connecting our accounting and operations teams at the regional level and will travel to CA, WA, NV & AZ. Travel is up to 20%. In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted business consultant to our operating units—tailoring your support to each unit’s unique needs while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
You’ll work closely with theRegional Controller, providing expert financial oversight, delivering actionable insights, and ensuring our accounting processes run seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End Close
• Lead and support month-end close processes for operating units.
• Record all general ledger adjustments, insurance entries, rebate transactions, intercompany transactions, and bad debt reserves.
• Review indirect and SGA accounts for unusual or excessive activity.
• Attend monthly Cost-to-Complete meetings, record adjustments, and process changes before month-end.
• Prepare and post project-related accruals, over/under billed adjustments, and over/under absorbed costs.
• Run WIP reports, reconcile with the general ledger, and verify accuracy with the Regional Controller.
• Complete account reconciliations, ensuring balances for AR, AP, and other GL accounts are accurate.
• Reconcile project costs to the general ledger.
Audit & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, payroll, and applicable tax regulations.
• Manage fixed asset tracking, additions, and disposals.
• Assist with inventory control procedures, operating lease tracking, and vehicle/trailer tracking.
• Monitor and report on company charge accounts (credit cards, fuel cards, store accounts).
• Support internal, corporate, and IRS audits.
Training & Support
• Train and mentor operating unit accounting staff.
• Maintain and improve financial checklists, trackers, and forecasting tools.
• Serve as backup for regional and operating unit staff.
• Support the Regional Controller with acquisitions and special projects.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• Job costing experience in construction or manufacturing accounting.
• Strong understanding of in-house payroll and payroll tax reporting (preferred).
• Proven leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to drive organizational change and process improvements.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
