Job Description

SUMMARY
The Regional HR Manager will assist in facilitation of strategies and initiatives to ensure that regional human resources activities are in alignment with corporate objectives. The major areas of responsibility include benefits plan management, mergers & acquisitions, and compliance in the Americas. The incumbent will also share responsibility with the Director of Human Resources for cost containment strategies and regional benchmarking of current market trends relative to compensation, health and welfare programs. Assists and advises senior management on Human Resources issues, specifically in the area of the benefit plans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Employee and Team Development:
• Identify individual team member strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis.
• Create and/or validate training curriculum in area of responsibility.
• Coach and mentor team to deliver excellence to every internal and external customer.

• Performance Management:
• Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
• Solicit ongoing feedback on team member's contribution to the regional benefits team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team member based on feedback.
• Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
• Perform team member evaluations professionally and on time.
• Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
• Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.

• Communication:
• Provide regular communication mechanism for the exchange of ideas and information within the department.
• Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
• Ask questions; encourage input from staff.
• Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Business Strategy and Direction:

• Know and understand the corporate strategic directions.
• Assist in the definition, development and implementation of a Human Resources & Benefits strategies that contributes to the corporation's strategic directions.

• Cost Management:
• Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining plans, processes and systems
• Utilize tools to monitor benefit cost and trends, striving continuously to improve value and positively impact the bottom line.

TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulates and recommends benefit plans and related policies for the Americas. Develops "Request for Proposals" prior to vendor search projects, typically in conjunction with an outside consulting firm. Provide Jabil perspective and ensure vendor candidates understand Jabil's needs.
• Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting the function (i.e. ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, Form 5500, etc.). Monitors exposure of the company. Directs the participation of information requested or required for compliance. Acts as primary contact with labor counsel and outside government agencies.
• Defines and manages benefit programs in the Americas with direction from the Senior Management Team. Has responsibility of leading and communicating the local Human Resources teams respective to those programs. Provides necessary education and materials to line management and employees - workshops, conference calls, manuals, standardized reports.
• Manage vendor relationships inclusive of insurance companies, law firms, third-party administrators and law firms.
• Conducts a continuing study of all HR benefit plans, programs, and practices through trend reporting analysis and metrics management to keep top management informed of new developments.
• Keeps Director of HR, Americas informed of significant problems that jeopardize the achievement of objectives.
• Supports and/or covers for the Expatriate and Immigration activities on a global basis. Address escalated issues and partner with the three regional directors in management of these activities.
• Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
• Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.
• Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
• Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
• Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in related field required and nine years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Human Resources Management Certificate and/or PHR or SPHR desired.
