Registered Nurse OR Circulator

Townsen Memorial Hospital is rapidly expanding and seeking an OR Registered Nurse Circulator. We have openings at various locations across the Metro Houston area. Areas included are Kingwood, Humble, Spring and West-Houston. The ideal candidate must have 3 years of experience in an OR setting. **Sign On Bonus of $10K for 1 year for Full Time Staff** Responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to: • Manages and coordinates the care of the surgical patient in a safe, effective, efficient and timely manner • Demonstrates the ability to identify resources necessary to implement the plan of care • Collaborates with the health professionals to determine the healthcare needs of the surgical patient • Prepares the room by setting up both sterile and non-sterile supplies prior to the patient entering the surgical suite • Ensures that the sterile field is not compromised during the procedure • Assists the surgeon during and after the surgical procedure to provide optimal care for the patient • Ensures that the surgical room is sterile and safe for the patient • Works side by side with the scrub nurse to help maintain the sterile field in the operating room • Asses the patient's condition before a surgical procedure • Asses the needs of the patient during the procedure to ensure the best outcome • Continues to evaluate the patients' condition during the procedure and makes changes to the care plan as necessary KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES • Nursing care for Intra-Operative patients • Operation of vital sign monitors • Assessment skills • A basic understanding of the nursing diagnosis • Principles of Standard Precautions • IV Therapy • Basic computer skills • Must be able to perform skills and competencies • Must have effective listening skills and critical thinking skills • The ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing • Registered Nurse (active and unencumbered license) in the State of Texas • Minimum of 3 years previous Intra-Operative Care Experience required • BLS and ACLS required • Ortho/Spine Experience preferred • Willingness to Cross-train to Pre-Op/PACU ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Variable days and must be able to work holidays and weekends, 7a-7p Job Type: Full-time Pay: $43.75 - $52.69 per hour Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Flexible schedule • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Application Question(s): • Do you have at least 1 year of OR Circulating experience?
