We are currently seeking a aFull -timeRegistered Pharmacistto cover mostly outpatient and inpatient areas and working under the general supervision of the Pharmacy Director and according to established procedures, theRegistered Pharmacistis responsible for processing physician orders, compounding and dispensing medications and pharmaceutical supplies, and serving as an educational resource to promote pharmaceutical care. The duties of the Registered Pharmacist include, but are not limited to: • Determines the appropriateness, safety and efficacy of drug therapy regimens • Compounds and dispensing of medications in accordance with Federal, State and Local rules and regulations • Provides clinical expertise as it relates to Pharmaceutical Therapy for the benefit of the Professional Staff and patients of the Institution • Provides direction and supervision of support personnel to assure efficient utilization of support Staff activities • Participates in the development and implementation of Departmental programs • Is active in the Quality Assessment Program and in the revision of Departmental Policies & Procedures • Responsible for staying aware of clinical (and operational) pharmaceutical developments • Assume other related responsibilities as assigned Job Requirements: • Illinois licensed pharmacist • Knowledge of Meditech, Pyxis, or QS-1 system preferred • At least one year of previous retail or hospital experience desired. • A good understanding of the clinical hospital environment • General knowledge of IV solutions, aseptic technique, and chemotherapeutic agents • Good written and oral communication skills Thorek Memorial Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • 1st shift Education: • Doctorate (Preferred) License/Certification: • IL State Licensed Pharmacist (Required) Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person
