Reinforcement Learning Research Intern for Game AI

Sony AI invites passionate and innovative Ph.D. students to join us as Research Scientist Interns specializing in deep reinforcement learning (deep RL). Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct research using deep RL techniques within game AI contexts.

• Explore novel algorithms and methodologies to address AI challenges in modern PlayStation games.

• Develop code to support research endeavors primarily using Python.

• Prepare reports and deliver presentations for diverse audiences within the organization.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of AI researchers and developers on ambitious demonstration projects.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Currently pursuing a Ph.D. with a focus on reinforcement learning or possessing equivalent practical experience.

• Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting neural networks.

• Enthusiasm for integrating AI solutions into gaming applications.

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Working Location & Duration

• Fully remote possible from Switzerland Spain UK France Germany Sweden and Italy (Hybrid opportunities in the Zurich office)

• Flexible duration ranging from 3 to 6 months in 2026.
