Position Summary

Sony AI invites passionate and innovative Ph.D. students to join us as Research Scientist Interns specializing in deep reinforcement learning (deep RL). We are dedicated to expanding the application of AI to enhance human creativity. This internship offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the Game AI field.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct research using deep RL techniques within game AI contexts.

• Explore novel algorithms and methodologies to address AI challenges in modern PlayStation games.

• Develop code to support research endeavors primarily using Python.

• Prepare reports and deliver presentations for diverse audiences within the organization.

• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of AI researchers and developers on ambitious demonstration projects.

• Honesty trustworthiness and ethical conduct are material requirements for the responsibilities outlined above.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION

Your qualifications and experience should include:

• Currently pursuing a Ph.D. with a focus on reinforcement learning or possessing equivalent practical experience.

• Proficiency in designing and troubleshooting neural networks.

• Enthusiasm for integrating AI solutions into gaming applications.

• Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

**Duration:**

- Flexible duration ranging from 3 to 6 months.

**Working Location:**

- Fully remote positions available in North America.

- Optional in-person opportunities in Tokyo.

The target hourly rate for this internship is $50.00 per hour.  The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
